An Easier Way to Share Print Screens

If you’re a tech savvy like myself, you’ve come across the annoyance of having to
do the tedious process of sharing a print screen with others. While some mediums to conquer them with live feeds such as Skype or Join.Me, sometimes you just want to share a snapshot and send it to someone else (or many others for that matter) with ease. A very good program to conquer this is LightShot. This very lightweight program, when running, replaces the usual print screen function and allows for the user to effortlessly upload their screenshot to a free hosting site, from which you can quickly share with others in a matter of seconds and saves massive amounts of time. But this is not the only option available to the user. On the pressing of the print screen button, LightShot will show an overlay, in which the user can adjust the size of the capture area, along with other things to do with their image, such as saving it to the computer instead. On top of this, the program also allows for the screenshot to be edited in their online photo manipulation site, in order to add things such as highlights and text. It is a great program and only takes a few minutes (if that), to download and install!

What A Surprise… iPhone 5S is Coming

Of course, it is now rumored that the iPhone 5S is coming soon. It has been said that a new camera is being installed to allow the user to create stunning, high resolution photos that makes the viewer think they were actually there. As normal, Apple is also following it’s tradition in improving the phone’s processor.

But as much as this sounds nice, I have questions about this. Here are a couple of my questions:

  1. Do we need a new processor?
Apple has upgraded their processor so much recently it seems sort of pointless. Are there really any apps which will need    such an amazing processor and it’s not as if people are going to multitask 25 different applications at once
  2. Are iPhones just becoming more pointless each release?
I’m sure many will disagree but I think that the phones are becoming more pointless as they go along. To me it seems Apple are just chucking out loads of new phones with slight adjustments all the time; as they know all the Apple fans and followers will buy their products just because it’s the latest fad.

Maybe we will find out later this year, to see if my questions will be answered.

Review: FL Studio 10 (music production)

Hello!

In this review I will be talking about the music production software ‘FL Studio’ by Image-Line. So to start off, this is the most efficient, most exciting software you can get for music composition/remixing. It’s interface and structure is perfect for this. The synthesizers it come with are also top notch, with many different plugins which supply a unique and individual sound, perfect for variety of sorts. It has many different options for changing the way your synths sound to make them even better, everything you could think of can be created using synths in FL Studio. But don’t forget, the pattern maker, the unique piano roll and the sidebar. These all make life so much easier, from making epic drum beats to extremely precise note outputs. It’s all here, everything you need, in this one small, simple package. I totally recommend this. Get it here.

Review: Nintendo 3DS

Hey readers, this time I’m reviewing the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo’s newest portable console. First of all, even when I was unboxing this I knew it was gonna be epic. And I was right. The graphics are amazing, I was stunned when I first turned it on. There are so many improvements not only to the graphics, but to the interface. Not only is the 3DS more responsive, it’s entire UI has been revamped to suit the user much easier and it is much easier to get to things.

Mario Kart 7: First Impressions

Mario Kart 7 is obviously the seventh installment of the Mario Kart series, which was released on 1st December in Europe. Although I haven’t actually got the game yet, based on what I’ve seen of the game, it’s pretty amazing. First of all, the new ways you can race, for example the glider, which enables you to glide around the track when you drive off a blue ramp. These things all open loads of new opportunities in racing. Another cool thing is kart customisation. By collecting coins during races you can change your kart to make that perfect ride. Epicness alert! There are sixteen epic new tracks as well as some remastered racetracks from the old games, including Wii. If you have the 3DS, or you are hoping that you’re getting it for Christmas, make sure this one’s on the list. 😀

iPhone 4S Review

Before I start this review, I want to say that all reviews will now be on the front page rather than on a seperate reviews page!

So Apple have officially released the iPhone 4S in the USA, and it’s due to come out to us UK peeps on the 14th. It’s pretty good, it has many good features, including the revelutionary new application Siri. It looks exactly to same as the 4 (obviously) but it is awesome. It has a dual core A5 proccessor meaning it is twice as fast and twice as responsive. It has the new iOS 5, with over 200 new features, including iMessage, the iPhone’s version of Blackberry Messenger.

So first, lets talk about Siri. Siri is Apple’s new voice recogition app which is, to be fair, amazing. It’s very cool, it doesn’t just do normal things like ‘Call Bob.’ It understands you like it was a normal person standing next to you. It’s amazing, and example on their website, “Meet with Jamie for coffee at 2pm” and Siri sets it up for you. It’s a freakin’ amazing.

Then, theres that new 8MP camera. The iPhone’s camera has been completely re-designed. It has an extra lens and a better face recogition system, so you get better, sharper photos. It can also record in 1080p HD, and you can edit those videos right on the spot after capture. Now that’s just awesome, you don’t have to link it up and then get some expensive editing software like Sony Vegas or Adobe After Effects. And also, with the new feature AirPlay, you can link up your iPhone with a HDTV directly so that you can watch it on there.

And they’ve improved their screen resolution aswell. It’s the highest resolution on a phone ever, and, it’s so high, that the eye is unable to make out the individual pixels which make it up. Also, it has better screen illumination, so everything is crisp and sharp.

So, this phone is a must buy, and, if I’m honest, it’s very cheap compared to older iPhones. My rating is of course 10/10. Oh, and I have to say, R.I.P. Steve Jobs, and amazing guy. 😦
